Title CASE Student Assistant - Non Work Study 21-22 - CASEBSU
Position Description
The CASE Student Assistant will assist CASE staff with tasks associated with all CASE outreach programs, including programming for K-12 students, K-12 teachers and community members. 
 
For the EarthView program, student assistants will support the floor map lending program. They will help maintain floor maps by opening and cleaning maps both prior to and post use by schools. They will cataloging any damage to maps. When in-school programs resume, they will provide general assistance to the program leaders and participants. For the CityLab/Watershed Access Lab program, students will assist in the administration and day to day activities of the programs. When offered virtually, students will assist with preparing lab materials needed for visits. When in-person programs resume, students will be immersed in the laboratory, assisting educators in preparing and teaching hands-on modules to visiting elementary, middle and high school students. Students will also assist CASE staff with maintaining and updating the CASE website and Facebook pages. Other duties include clerical work, filing, photocopying, data entry, and maintaining databases. They will assist with event organization including assisting with marketing of CASE programs, and creating flyers and brochures. They will assist with data compilation and reporting.  They will assist with kit preparation for our large Open Lab Week event.

Preferred Qualifications
- Reliability
- Attention to detail 
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher 
- Proficiency with Zoom, Teams, and other remote conferencing software
- Experience with or willingness to learn laboratory techniques, including gel electrophoresis, chemical preparation, micropipeting, and scientific method
