Scholarship information

Arizona State University Latino Partnership Scholars - ASU-Hispanic Business Alumni (HBA) partners with this community of Latino organizations to provide undergraduate students with scholarships each academic year. The ASU Latino Partnership Scholars is comprised of the following partners: Si Se Puede Foundation, Chicano/Latino Faculty and Staff Association, Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc., ASU Hispanic Business Alumni Association, and Los Diablos Alumni Association. ASU students can apply to more than one of the ASU Latino Partnership Scholars awards but can only be awarded one ASU Latino Partnership Scholars award.

This scholarship may not be combined with the following ASU institutional merit awards: National Scholars Award (National Merit Finalist, National Recognition Finalist), or the NAmU-Flinn Semi-Finalist Award. Obama Scholars are ineligible for the ASU Latino Partnership Scholarship.

ASU Latino Partnership scholarships will not exceed the value of stated resident tuition for each respective academic year when combined with the Qualified Tuition Reduction (QTR, a benefit for faculty and staff) or other tuition reduction programs (or waivers). Dependents of ASU employees who qualify for a tuition subsidy are eligible to apply, but may only receive an award up to the cost of tuition & fees minus any other aid or award applied.

Additional criteria: 

-Be a graduate of an Arizona high school; a graduate of an Arizona community college; or an existing ASU W. P. Carey student. You must also be classified as an Arizona resident for tuition purposes (residency is determined at the time of application to ASU). Arizona law requires students receiving resident tuition and ASU institutional scholarships, including this one, to demonstrate lawful presence in the United States.

-Must be attending or admitted to Arizona State University as a full-time, on campus undergraduate business degree student, enrolled at the W. P. Carey School of Business.

-Must file 2024-2025 FAFSA, or if not eligible to file FAFSA complete the CSS profile (https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org ), by the Arizona State University priority deadline of May 1, 2024.

-Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 ASU credit hours each fall and spring semester in order for their scholarship to disburse.

-If selected as a recipient, your name and image may be used for publicity, advertisement, and promotion of the ASU Hispanic Business Alumni Association.


Donor preferences: 

Applicants will be notified in early April if selected to interview for the program. Interviews will be held virtually late April, 2024.

Scholars are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community service per academic year. Selected scholars are required to attend and volunteer at ASU-HBA fundraising events, Noche De Loteria, HBA Scholarship Reception, and/or approved functions (selected scholars will be notified of dates and locations).

Community service hour forms must be completed, signed and submitted to the ASU-HBA Board Scholarship Committee Chair by the end of each semester for scholarship disbursement.

Additionally, students are required to complete one approved career development program session.

Students who plan to participate in an ASU Study Abroad Office sponsored program during the academic year of this scholarship are still eligible to apply. Students will be required to provide a video about their study abroad experience and how the scholarship impacted their academic goals. This video will fulfill the required HBA volunteer events while away.

Application information

Scholarship criteria must be met at time of application as well as during the academic year. HBA Scholarship committee will review and confirm eligibility status at the time of application as well as at the end of each semester of the award year.

The scholarship committee strongly weighs the essay responses in determining scholarship recipients. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, leadership qualities, community service, educational/career goals and quality of application.
