Advertised Job Summary | Reporting to the Director of Student Life, the Assistant Director of Student Life supports the Division of Student Development’s student success efforts by developing intentional student engagement and learning opportunities that enhance the holistic well-being of students. Specifically, the assistant director will lead co-curricular programming that enriches the student collegiate experience in, but not limited to, the following areas: clubs/organizations, service & civic engagement, campus center management, and the Sand Shark Activities Board (SSAB), the programming board for the university. The assistant director builds strong, collaborative relationships with campus and community partners, students, and parents to integrate university, departmental, and Student Development goals into the student life experience. |

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) | Master’s degree in Student Services or related field and 1 year related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience. |
Preferred Qualifications | Masters degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, College Student Personnel or related field and 2 years related experience. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | At least 1 year prior of student life, part-time student supervisory experience. Experience with student engagement, event planning, strong organizational skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills. A proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, knowledge of principles of student development, and strong student-centered philosophy is required. Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. Experience In the formation, implementation, evaluation of effective housing policies and procedures is required. |
