Position Summary
This individual will counsel undergraduate business students in regard to Academic programs, manage program communications, and develop and manage various program initiatives for both faculty and staff. Specific areas include: academic counseling for prospective and current business students; orientation and mentor programs; event management; data, budget, and financial management; program communications (including website and social media); and admission activities. The Assistant Director will act as the first point of contact for the various program constituencies (prospective and current students, faculty, alumni, guests), and will provide support for professional development initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of academic requirements, career opportunities and qualifications, and of the policies and objectives of student government and student organizations. Strong written and spoken communication skills necessary for working with diverse constituencies. Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with faculty, staff and undergraduate students, as well as employers and alumni, in regard to academic requirements and program activities. Ability to manage multiple tasks, take initiative, and work unsupervised. Accuracy and efficiency in data management are essential. Ability to evaluate quantitative and qualitative data and make sound decisions accordingly. Proficiency in application software for spreadsheet, word processing, database, website maintenance, and social media communications.
Bachelor's degree; previous experience and evidence of successful program design and coordination, event leadership, communications (including website and social media) and track record of building effective working relationships with students, faculty, and business professionals required.  
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced skills in Excel and SunGard Banner. Experience working in higher education.
