ROLE of the POSITION

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Recruitment, the position of Admission Coordinator is responsible for researching, developing and implementing detailed annual recruitment plans for the entire recruitment team, as well as maintaining his/her own recruitment territory.  This requires a keen awareness of market trends, demographic shifts and recruitment strategies and technologies being utilized by competing institutions, as well as the ability to synthesize this information to make appropriate determinations of strategies to be employed in specific recruitment territories.  The Coordinator must also possess the ability to establish a strong rapport with colleagues over which he/she will assign, supervise and assess recruitment efforts.  The Admission Coordinator will annually collect, monitor and analyze student enrollment data and conversion rates at all points of the admission funnel to inform the assignment of recruitment goals for each of the admission team members reporting to them set by Admissions Leadership.  This position will also monitor all travel cost projections and expenditure tracking for both in and out-of-state recruitment travel and assist in identifying, writing proposals for and developing professional development opportunities for the staff they supervise.

The Coordinator will also be charged with developing and ensuring the implementation of all recruitment plans for targeted populations, including but not limited to the Multicultural Recruitment Plan, High Ability Recruitment Plan. These will be assessed and updated annually.

The Admission Coordinator will maintain a high level of internal and external public contact serving as a liaison between the Office of Admissions, various academic units, other organizations within the University and with public constituents.  The Admission Coordinator (and team) is responsible for outreach efforts for the recruitment of all undergraduate students to the University.  These efforts include, but are not limited to, the following:  admissions presentations, hosting workshops for prospective students and families, participating in on- and off-campus recruitment events to provide admission assistance/guidance, meeting with prospective students and families on campus, making calls to prospects and inquiries for admission counseling and proactively communicating with admitted students to encourage and ensure matriculation.  The Coordinator will also make determinations regarding eligibility for admission based on the ability to understand and interpret NSHE and UNLV policy and assess transcripts and all related documentation.  The Coordinator will also counsel and make recommendations regarding educational goals as appropriate to potential students.  

Finally, this position is responsible for providing leadership in carrying out special initiatives as assigned by the Admissions Leadership and will be expected to travel both in and out of state and work irregular hours and weekends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 3-5 years relevant experience as it relates to student engagement, recruitment and customer service. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree.

Direct undergraduate student recruitment for a regionally accredited public or private 4-yr R-1 institution.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
