Position Description: Dr. Yaoze Liu invites applications for a graduate research assistant position working toward a PhD in the research area of hydrologic and water quality modeling. This position is funded by United States Department of Agriculture-National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA). The student will develop and apply a hydrologic/water quality model and an optimization-based decision support system (DSS) to improve water resources sustainability at the field and watershed scales, with a focus on agricultural best management practices (BMPs). This position is available immediately.
Required Qualifications:
(1) BS or MS degree in agricultural engineering, environmental engineering, or other closely related disciplines.
(2) Excellent written and oral communication skills.
(3) Highly self-motivated.
Preferred Experience:
(1) Hydrologic/water quality modeling using SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool).
(2) Programming languages, such as Python, Matlab, C++, or FORTRAN.
(3) ArcGIS application.
