About the Position:  
The Dean of Students Office helps Titans reach higher by serving as an advocate for students, connecting them to the appropriate university resources, and collaborating meaningfully with the campus community. We assist students in navigating the university and resolving educational, personal, and other concerns that impact the quality of their Titan experience. We are searching for a Student Conduct Coordinator (Student Services Professional II-Range A). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Conduct, and per Title 5 and current Executive Orders governing student conduct, the Student Conduct Coordinator will investigate and adjudicate allegations of student misconduct, including cases involving student organizations, and academic and/or behavioral misconduct by individuals resulting in university sanctions. Under the guidance of the Associate Dean, meets with students, consults with complainants, weighs evidence, conducts administrative reviews; determines if the student conduct code was violated; holds students accountable for their actions when appropriate; assesses and monitors effective sanctions, as appropriate. Connects students to university resources to aid their success through appropriate referrals. Maintains confidential student conduct files following current state and federal guidelines. Issue warnings, send letters, and manages cases within the Maxient database. Assists in developing, presenting, and assessing appropriate educational seminars, workshops, and outreach materials. Assists with department assessment efforts for monthly newsletters, reports, and general needs. Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.  Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational management, research, and interview techniques. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews, and advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Ability to reason logically and use initiative in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements. Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities. Ability to interact with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and of the overall organization.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
