Exeter’s Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences is offering 1 dedicated, fully funded PhD studentship (open to UK fee paying candidates only) for Global Majority candidates for study commencing in September 2023, across any of its areas of research expertise.

The Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences is launching its UK Global Majority studentship for 2023-24. We recognise the sector-wide underrepresentation of UK Global Majority students at PhD level in Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, and the Studentship represents our commitment to expanding the opportunities for the most able students irrespective of background or financial circumstances.

* Global Majority refers to people who are Black, Asian, Brown, dual-heritage, whose heritage is indigenous to the global south, and/or have been referred to as ‘ethnic minorities’

Duration and value of award:

The studentship will be for a period of up to 3 years (36 months), dependent on satisfactory progress, and will cover full tuition fees and an annual maintenance grant of £17,668 (2022/23 rate).
