Project description:  

The research will address the issues of well-being, regional development and ecosystems, specifically the emergence of purposeful ecosystems. It will do this through a focus on The Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales, 2015) and the ecosystem within Wales. The project will undertake one of the first in depth primary research projects of this type. The specific aim is to understand how the Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales, 2015) is being embedded and implemented both within the public sector and private sector, the influence of the ecosystem (specifically a purposeful ecosystem) on this and vice versa and to enable suggestions and recommendations to be made moving forward. The research objectives are to: 

  • Undertake primary research of the Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales, 2015) and its implementation within public and private bodies within Wales;
  • Undertake primary research of the ecosystem within Wales (specifically that of a purposeful ecosystem) and how this acts to support the Well-being Act and vice versa;
  • To provide recommendations as to areas of best practice and how the Well-being Act and the Ecosystem could be improved. 

Eligibility 

Candidates must have attained, or must be expected to attain, a first-class honours degree and/or a distinction at master’s level. If you are eligible to apply for the scholarship (i.e. a student who is eligible to pay the UK rate of tuition fees) but do not hold a UK degree, you can check our comparison entry requirements. Please note that you may need to provide evidence of your English Language proficiency.

Due to funding restrictions, this scholarship is open to applicants eligible to pay tuition fees at the UK rate only, as defined by UKCISA regulations.

Additional Funding Information

This scholarship covers the full cost of UK tuition fees and an annual stipend at £19,237.
