About the Role
This is a new role, paid at Professional Services Grade 3. The Student Projects and Campaigns Assistant is responsible for supporting the delivery of Student Life events, projects, and campaigns. Student Life covers a wide range of activity, and the scope of the activity is constantly evolving to meet student need. The post is responsible for assisting with the creation of content for a range of digital and offline communications channels that appeal to a mass student audience.

The post is based primarily at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a permanent post, with an expected start date of 1st December 2021 or soon after. We are currently recruiting for three posts: two full time and one part-time (17.5 hours per week).

The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £28,208 - £34,733 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance. The post holder will be required to work some evenings and weekends to support student events.

About You
You will have appropriate relevant academic/vocational qualifications (GCSE, NVQ, City & Guilds). A degree and membership of relevant professional bodies would be an advantage but they are not essential.

Experience of receiving and responding appropriately to enquiries as well as good customer management skills are essential for this role.

The successful candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills, experience of using social media channels and developing appropriate content for a range of audiences.

About the Department
The post of Student Projects and Campaigns Assistant is in the Student Life team, in the Student Wellbeing wing of Student and Academic Services. Student Wellbeing is made up of the Advice and Counselling Service, the Disability and Dyslexia Service and the Student Life team, which oversees diverse areas such as the Chaplaincy, the Student Health Service, Report and Support and Music.

Student Life also manage the University’s welcome and induction programme for new and continuing students and play a crucial role in delivering the campus experience for students in collaboration with QMSU and Residential Services.
