Do you want to be part of an award-winning team and make a difference to students? Careers and Enterprise are recruiting for a Student Employability Adviser (maternity cover) at Queen Mary, University of London. The post-holder will have the opportunity to work directly with students and play a crucial role in supporting them into work.
The postholder will provide application support for students and graduates, giving feedback on CVs, cover letters, application forms and mock interviews. This vital, in-demand service requires good listening and interpersonal skills and a client-centred approach. The postholder will create student and graduate newsletters on a regular basis and undertake various other special projects to support advice and guidance for students. The post holder will work as part of the Faculty Team of Careers Consultants.
This position would suit someone who is passionate about providing high quality careers support to students, has excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and is confident to work unsupervised. Insight into careers in banking and finance would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Careers and Enterprise Team’s mission is to develop the employability of Queen Mary University of London students from their arrival at the University until two years after graduation. The team consists of c. 40 staff, working in partnership with staff and students to provide support across all of Queen Mary’s academic schools. The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is part time (14 hours per week), permanent fixed term appointment for 1 year. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £27,742 - £34, 220 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
