This new part-time post is available from 3 April 2023 until 30 April 2024 on a fixed term basis.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The role

The Department of Health and Care Professions are looking to appoint a 0.2fte, part-time Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology. This individual will deliver education as part of Nursing and taught postgraduate programmes. This post is available immediately for a period of 12 months initially.    

The successful applicant will be an experienced, GPhC-registered Pharmacist with a track record in education leadership.  As an experienced educator, you will be delivering Pharmacology Education within Nursing and more widely in the Department of Health and Care Professions’ postgraduate programmes. This includes the associated operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement (including accreditation by relevant professional institutions where appropriate).   

About you

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Be an experienced Pharmacist with current GPhC registration
  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD or equivalent in Pharmacology in order to teach and support learning on Pharmacology modules.
  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
