About the Role

We are recruiting 2 x Receptionists to work in Residences Reception which is in the heart of our student village on the Mile End Campus. The Residences Reception is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the overnight cover provided by the in-house Security Team.

One post is full time and will work 35 hours per week, on a fixed pattern, working Tuesday – Saturday inclusive.  The second post is part time working 15 hours a week on a fixed pattern spread over 3 days – Sunday, Monday and Friday. The post holders will report to the Assistant Residences Operations Manager and will be part of the Residential Services Team who provide support to the 3000 residents who live in halls across 4 sites.

About You

The successful candidates will have previous experience of reception work in a student facing or hotel setting and fully appreciate the importance of giving a first class customer experience. Whilst the working pattern is fixed, there are times when the post holder will need to be flexible with hours to cover busy periods such as move in weekend and open days plus the summer period when rooms are let out to conference guests.

Starting salary for the full time post will be in the range of £22,212- £27,034 per annum (the part time 15 hours post will be paid pro rata) inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro rata for the part time post) pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.

We particularly welcome applications from people who identify as men as this group is underrepresented at this level at Queen Mary.
