AVAILABLE FROM 1 OCTOBER 2023
Three full-time three-year PhD studentships are available, one in each area as follows:
- ENGINEERING, MATERIALS, ENERGY AND ELECTRONICS
- DESIGN AND THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT
- ENVIRONMENT/ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
commencing 1 October 2023. Each studentship covers full-time fees, includes a stipend (£17,668 per annum in 2022/2023), plus an additional annual research allowance.
Students will be expected to undertake their research study at the Open University Campus in Milton Keynes[1] - a well-connected and growing modern town, situated on the Oxford-Cambridge arc and just over half an hour’s train journey from London. The School of Engineering and Innovation has a large postgraduate student community and provides a friendly and flexible working environment for all its staff and students, with well-resourced laboratories and workshops.
This year’s research projects represent contributions from all disciplines in the School. Full details of projects are available from https://www.open.ac.uk/stem/engineering-and-innovation/phd-students/current-phd-studentships .
Interested persons are strongly encouraged to make informal enquiries to the lead supervisor of the research project they are interested in before applying.
