Funded PhD Studentship in Business and Management

The Business School at Brunel University London is offering two  fully funded PhD studentships to start in the academic year of 2022/23. The studentship is for a period of 3 years (36 months) preferably starting on 1st  October 2022 or at a mutually agreed time after that. The studentship is open to UK and International applicants. The successful applicant will receive an annual stipend which is currently £17,609 (includes London Allowance), plus payment of tuition fees at UK rate.

Those awarded the studentship will also assume the role of General Teaching Assistant (GTA) and be required to assist in the School’s teaching up to 180 hours a year in the following subject areas: - Marketing; Information Technology; Accounts; International Business, & Human Resources. The successful applicant will be associated with one of the School’s leading research groups and conduct research in their respective areas. The School’s research groups are:

  • Accounting and Auditing Research Group
  • Human Resource Management and Organization Behaviour Research Group
  • Operations and Information Systems Management Research Group
  • Marketing and Corporate Brand Management Research Group
  • Strategy and International Business
  • Centre for Entrepreneurship
  • Artificial Intelligence research centre

Eligibility

The studentship is awarded based on outstanding academic merit and research potential.

Candidates should have an undergraduate degree (first or upper second class) in a relevant subject. A Master’s degree is an advantage but not essential, preferably at distinction level or equivalent.

  • A research proposal explaining your proposed area of research. The attached form can be used as a guide. Your proposal should be a minimum of 3500 words (excluding references) and no more than 5000 words.

  • Names and contact details for two academic referees
