PhD Studentship - Electronic and Electrical Engineering EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) Scholarships at the University of Sheffield
We currently have exciting opportunities for a number of UK PhD students to receive fee and stipend paying scholarships in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. If you would like to undertake a programme of PhD research in electronics and you have a good academic record, then we have many exciting opportunities for your research project at the University of Sheffield. The Department is committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. We work to create an inclusive environment that attracts and supports a diverse range of talented postgraduate researchers and fosters equal opportunity for everyone to achieve their potential. We break down barriers, work to remove inequalities and build an environment where diversity -- in all its forms -- is actively sought, understood and appreciated and where processes and structures are designed so as to promote inclusion. We therefore particularly welcome applications from all underrepresented groups.
We will consider candidates who would like to undertake a PhD programme in any area of electronic or electrical engineering and related topics. The EEE department in Sheffield is famous for its world leading research in Electrical Machines and Drives, Communications and Semiconductor Materials and Devices. We are, therefore, particularly interested to hear from students that would like to work on some of the world’s most pressing problems that fall within these three research areas. For example: you may propose to work on the cutting edge of electric motors for the next generation of high-efficiency vehicles or you may propose to work on the communications technology that will come after 5G or you may propose to work on the semiconductor technologies that will lead to the next generation of microelectronic products. Further details on our department’s current research and extensive facilities can be found here: www.sheffield.ac.uk/eee/research .
