Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University wishes to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in Marketing. GTA posts are intended to support early career scholars working towards a PhD while contributing to teaching in the School. This is a Grade 6 position at 0.5FTE and for 48 months duration, with a salary of £15,703 per annum, and with PhD fees waived. The post can be taken up from August 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.

About the post

GTAs undertake a PhD over four years while contributing to teaching in the School. Candidates should develop a PhD proposal on the topic ‘Marketing, heritage and tourism’, to be supervised by Prof. Ian Baxter and Prof. Marylyn Carrigan in the Intercultural Research Centre . Under the leadership of the Head of Subject, Dr Kathryn Waite, the GTA in Marketing will provide teaching support for the new MA Marketing and the MSc International Marketing. There will be opportunities to contribute to a range of courses as a tutor and as a marker, including Leisure Marketing, Introduction to Marketing, International Marketing, Sustainable Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, and Marketing Communications.
