This part time post is available as a 0.2-0.4 FTE role from January 2023 until the 2nd  January 2024.

We can be flexible with when hours are worked, the only condition being that it will need to be on a working day when students are present. But the specific days/shift times can be agreed with the successful candidate.

About the role

The University of Exeter’s Community Law Clinic (CLC)  is looking for an experienced immigration practitioner to join the law department in Exeter, Devon. The ideal candidate would be a highly skilled, motivated and passionate legal professional, who is dedicated to social justice and workers’ rights, and can use their skills to make a real difference to the local community.

The successful candidate will be expected to focus on teaching and supervising on the University law clinic. There may be an opportunity to contribute to other teaching depending on skills and experience.

About you

You will:

  • Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by relevant experience in practice
  • Be open to using a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities
  • It is desirable that you have some evidence of excellent teaching where possible.
