Department of Mathematical Sciences Doctoral Scholarships 2022-23

We are looking for highly motivated and qualified candidates to apply for funded opportunity to pursue research leading to a PhD in the Department of Mathematical Sciences.  We provide a stimulating environment to carry out your doctoral research with members of academic staff active in research in: Actuarial Mathematics; Data Science and Statistical Learning; Operational Research; Statistical Methodology; Algebra; Discrete Mathematics and Geometry; Analysis and Mathematical Physics; Mathematical Applications; Mathematics Education.

You will work directly with a member of academic staff and receive research training tailored to your project.

This award will include –

• Home fee tuition fee waiver (£2,735 for 2022/23)
• International students receive the above fee waiver discounted from their tuition fees
• Living costs of Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) equivalent stipend per year (£8,834 for 2022/23)
• £2,500 (in total) in Proficio funding, which may be used to ‘buy’ advanced skills training including conferences and travel
