About Us

The Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE) is one of six institutes that forms the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD). IHSE are responsible for the delivery of the faculty’s medical degree programmes, including the MBBS which is one of the largest undergraduate medical degree programmes in the UK. The Clinical and Communication Skills Unit (CCSU) is a purpose-built facility enabling students across the healthcare professions, to develop a range of anatomical, clinical and communication skills in simulated supportive environments. The CCSU team are friendly, approachable, and supportive, with a long-standing reputation for pioneering new directions in clinical and professional skills teaching, learning and assessment. You will be joining us at an exciting time of innovation and curriculum reform across the flagship MBBS programme.

About The Role

Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Clinical and Professional Skills. This is a leadership post that oversees the development and delivery of clinical skills teaching for the next generation of doctors, ensuring students acquire, apply and retain clinical and communication skills across the various medical subspecialties.

As part of the role, you will have opportunities for professional development and receive mentorship from members of the IHSE Senior Leadership Team. You will also be afforded the chance to make wider strategic contributions at both Institute and Faculty level.
