Job Summary

This post is designed to support the research and clinical service improvement led by the Connected Care Bureau – a clinical centre of operations at Imperial NHS Trust in which Allied Health Professional run protocol-driven diagnostic, triage and management pathways based on incoming data from appropriate connected technologies.  The growing number of care pathways and their development and implementation requires clinical oversight, data management and outcome research by the appointed Clinical Fellow. This is particularly exciting time to be join Imperial College & NHS Trust and be part of its visionary digital transformation strategy in the post-COVID-19 era.

Duties and responsibilities

This post will involve close collaboration with existing cardiac and other services in the major comorbid conditions. The post will involve a commitment to clinical and outcome measurement and research and is an opportunity to evolve leadership in the emerging digital optimisation of care.

You will work closely with an existing clinical research fellow and will gain experience in writing and executing research protocols (including but not limited to the application of new technologies in clinical pathways), academic publications and will develop a technical understanding of the wider digital health ecosystem beginning to thrive within the NHS. For example, within Imperial NHS, several novel remote monitoring and diagnostic pathways using novel technologies are live or being developed across heart failure, frailty (care home support), COPD, palpitations, pulmonary fibrosis, cardiac rehabilitation and other chronic conditions.

There will be scope for incorporating the implementation of connected-care pathway(s) in the Fellow’s preferred sub-speciality to underpin registering with Imperial College for a MD(Res)/PhD degree, or post-doctoral research. 

Essential requirements

You will be required to hold a GMC registration and have experience of driving/evaluating changes in clinical practice.
