Cardiff University Year of the Dragon Scholarship

In recognition of our talented Chinese students, we are pleased to offer the Cardiff University Year of the Dragon Scholarship, new for 2024.

Worth £5,000, this scholarship is automatically awarded to all eligible students enrolling onto a select number of postgraduate programmes offered by Cardiff Business School.

The following postgraduate taught programmes are eligible for the Year of the Dragon Scholarship:

• MSc Finance
• MSc International Economics, Banking and Finance
• MSc Accounting and Finance
• MSc Financial Economics

No separate scholarship application is required. If you are holding an offer for an eligible programme and meet the criteria as set out in the Cardiff University Year of the Dragon Scholarships Terms and Conditions, you will automatically be awarded the scholarship upon enrolment.

Conditional offer holders must ensure that they:

• submit an eligible application to the University by 31 July 2024.
• accept their offer and pay their deposit by 30 June 2024, unless the deposit deadline is after this date, in which case, the deposit must be paid by the initial deposit deadline and the offer accepted within 14 days of it being made.
• meet all the offer conditions, including any English Language conditions, as stated in their offer by 20 August 2024.

Deposit deadline extensions past the 30 June 2024 will not be accepted for scholarship purposes.

Applicants who do not meet the conditions of their offer will not be eligible for the Cardiff University Year of the Dragon Scholarship, even if they are accepted into the University.

Unconditional offer holders must ensure that they:

• submit an eligible application to the University by 31 July 2024.
• accept their offer and pay their deposit by 30 June 2024, unless the deposit deadline is after this date, in which case, the deposit must be paid by the initial deposit deadline and the offer accepted within 14 days of it being made.

Deposit deadline extensions past the 30 June 2024 will not be accepted for scholarship purposes.

The following conditions apply to all students:

• The Cardiff University Year of the Dragon Scholarships are for students studying on the programmes outlined under 'eligible programmes'.
• Students must be defined as being domiciled in China on their course application.

No separate application for the scholarship is required. If you are holding an offer for an eligible programme and meet the criteria as set out in these terms & conditions, you will automatically be awarded the £5,000 Cardiff University Year of the Dragon Scholarship upon enrolment.

Any queries regarding scholarship eligibility need to be raised before 30 November 2024 by emailing the International Scholarships Team . Requests after this date will not be considered.
