About the role

An exciting opportunity to lead the combined awards and partnerships agenda within the School of Sciences at Bath Spa University. With student experience at the heart of all that we do, the post-holder will lead the combined awards and partnerships agenda ambitiously on behalf of the University.  Working with colleagues across the school and University the post holder will develop new partnerships to enhance the school’s academic and knowledge exchange agendas whilst reviewing performance of combined courses to enhance the school’s performance across a number of institutional KPIs, developing new combined courses where appropriate.  S/he will also be expected to undertake teaching, research and scholarly activity in relevant areas and make an active contribution to the leadership and people management as well as marketing and communications, planning and resourcing activities.

About you (requirements)

You will have a PhD and related successful HE teaching experience in an area of the school’s business together with experience of leading, coordinating and managing academic teams. You will have expertise in your subject area and the ability to demonstrate a clear vision for the future of the combined awards and partnerships agenda across the school, excellent teaching experience, a good command of the quality assurance landscape and effective leadership skills. A student-centred, teaching focused approach is also required.

The School of Sciences is a large and multidisciplinary school combining area of Social and Natural Sciences with speciality in Biology, Criminology, Geography and the Environment, Psychology, and Sociology.  We collaborate with others to produce specialised and interdisciplinary evidence to implement, promote and inform solutions to create genuine impact. We equip students with the theoretical and applied knowledge, experience, and skills to develop critically engaged, ethically-minded, and effective graduates.
