Cancer Research UK City of London (CoL) Centre clinical PhD training programme

The Cancer Research UK City of London (CoL) Centre collaborative PhD training programme is looking for exceptional clinical trainees to carry out multi-disciplinary research projects with a focus on cancer biotherapeutics. The Centre brings together world leading cancer researchers from across four London institutions: the Francis Crick Institute, UCL, Barts/ Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London. This unique interdisciplinary and collaborative network aims to develop new biological therapies and enhancing the impact of therapy by combining biotherapeutics with targeted small molecule approaches and image-guided physical therapies.

We are looking for talented and motivated clinicians who are passionate about research, have a strong academic track record and hold full GMC registration or equivalent. We offer a number of clinical PhD projects spanning the Centre’s research portfolio (https://www.colcc.ac.uk/research-programmes/ ).

You will be part of an exciting academic environment underpinned by world-class technical expertise. The integrated PhD programme brings together diverse cohorts of clinical fellows and PhD students. It offers bespoke, high quality scientific & transferable skills training, harnessing the breadth and depth of resources and knowledge across the Centre. During your PhD you will undertake multi-disciplinary training and cohort-building activities.

These are full-time research positions with limited participation in clinical activities. They are fully funded for three years, and PhD registration will be at the Primary Supervisor’s university. Successful candidates will receive a salary commensurate with their current experience, paid on the clinical academic scale.
