The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at American University of Sharjah invites applications for faculty positions in mathematics at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commencing August 2020. One-year visiting faculty positions will be available. Also, a long-term position could be available pending budgetary approval. Candidates are required to have a PhD in Mathematics or related areas. Evidence of strong research potential, excellence in teaching at all levels of the curriculum and strong communication skills in English are required. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at AUS offers a Master of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a minor in applied and computational mathematics, a minor in actuarial mathematics and a minor in data science. It provides courses in service to almost every academic program campus-wide. The department currently consists of 28 full-time faculty members who are actively engaged in original research in different areas of mathematics and statistics.
