The Chair of Stochastic Analysis at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for one or more postdoctoral researcher positions. The starting dates is September 01 2023, but flexible. Outstanding candidates are encouraged to enquire at any time. Review of applications starts in January, until filled. We seek outstanding candidates working in Stochastic Analysis with emphasis on stochastic differential equations / multi-scale stochastic systems / SDEs driven by fractional Brownian motions / Functional Central Limit Theorems / Stochastics processes on manifolds. The precise research topic(s) will be discussed with the successful candidate depending on their background and affinities. There will also be plenty of scope for the researcher to follow their own research interests. The position comes with excellent research conditions, stimulating work environment set in beautiful surroundings, opportunities to interact with other world class research groups, a very competitive salary, and a budget to cover travel expenses and other expenses. We encourage personal initiative and independent research tasks related to the candidate’s interests. Your Profile: -A PhD in mathematics -Background in probability theory / stochastic analysis /Analysis/ ODE/PDE -Strong research record -Proficiency in English. Candidates are expected to be an active member in the chair of Stochastic Analysis, to interact with other members of the group including PhD students, postdocts, and visitors, to supervise / co-supervise research Undergraduate and MSc projects, and to fullfil any duties required from the department.
