postdoc position is available at the Institute of Molecular Systems Biology, ETH Zurich, in the group of Mattia Zampieri, within a larger study funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) on « Metabolic reprogramming by selective autophagy ». The project aims at reaching a molecular and cellular understanding of the role of selective autophagy in mediating metabolic adaptation under stress and limited nutrient conditions in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and its contribution to cancer cells transformation.

I am seeking an excellent and highly motivated candidate with experience in computational biology. Candidates should have a PhD with a strong background in physics and/or mathematical modeling. Experience in programming, model fitting and statistical analysis is expected. Good communication skills in oral and written English are essential.

Successful applicants will be working in an interdisciplinary team of researchers developing models that integrate high-throughput proteomics with metabolomics data to identify the role of selective autophagy in regulating metabolism. The team includes experts in molecular biology, proteomics, computational biology and metabolomics.

We offer an outstanding and highly interactive scientific environment, state-of-the-art technology platforms, highly competitive salaries, and opportunities for advanced training and career development. The position is available immediately and is funded for four years.

Please send your application (cover letter, CV, diplomas and contact information of 2-3 referees) to Dr. Mattia Zampieri, ETH Zurich, Otto-Stern-Weg 3, 8093 Zürich, Switzerland, e-mail: zampieri@imsb.biol.ethz.ch.
