The Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology (Prof. Gudela Grote) is widely known for its research at the intersection of work, organization, and technology.


Project background

Current research is conducted within the National Competence Center for Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation from 2014 to 2026, aimed at understanding how new technologies change human work and the organization of work in the field of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) and how these changes can be guided towards holistic and sustainable socio-technical innovation.


Job description

The position is financed by the NCCR and the successful candidate is expected to collaborate with researchers from various technical disciplines in order to develop new approaches to impactful interdisciplinary research or "team science" and new translational practices. Additionally, own research projects can be initiated to build an overarching personal research program. The position is available from June 1, 2022 and is initially funded for two years, with an overall timeframe of max. 4 years.


Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with a doctoral degree in work and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, science and technology studies, or sociology (or a related field), a strong interest in interdisciplinary research, knowledge in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and an excellent command of English and preferably also German. Prior experience in research on topics related to the current position and a strong publication record are expected. Candidates should be highly committed and self-driven individuals with a creative and proactive mindset, striving to excel in a top-level, dynamic environment.
