PhD Position (SNF-Project “SDD 21")

The Department of Social Sciences of the University of Basel invites applications for a PhD position in Political Science for a duration of four years. The starting date of the positions is 1 November 2022, or later. Salary is standardized based on University of Basel guidelines.

• Develop and conduct a PhD project in the fields of public opinion, political behavior and/or political psychology within the SNF-Project “Swiss Direct Democracy in the 21st Century (SDD 21)"
• Contribute to the activities of the “SDD 21" research group
• Contribute to the activities at the Political Science department

• Master degree in Political Science or related discipline
• Skills in quantitative methods and/or survey research
• Strong command of R
• Strong command of English. Knowledge of German or French is a plus
