PhD position in heterogeneous catalysis to study the reactivity of aromatic radical anion species relevant to industrial processes


The Laboratory of Energy Science and Engineering  is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong interest in the development of heterogeneous catalysts and a solid knowledge of physical organic chemistry.

The position is available from October 2022 onwards.


Job description

You will participate in research projects aimed at utilizing single electron transfer to increase the reactivity of aromatic hydrocarbons in several industrially-relevant processes.

Your profile
  • You are expected to have a master’s degree in Chemistry.
  • Excellent knowledge of organic chemistry, including experimental laboratory work and knowledge of standard characterization methods (NMR, IR, MS and chromatographic analytical techniques), is expected.
  • Experience with inorganic material synthesis and material characterization is a plus.
