Ph.D. position in Biology/Immunology/Oncology, 100%

We are looking for candidates with

  • An excellent basic formation in immunology, oncology, biology, biochemistry and/or molecular biology
  • An interest in signal transduction in immunological/oncological processes
  • Motivation to deliver high quality research, data, and to publish in peer reviewed journals
  • Ability to communicate and present in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary, international team
  • Motivation to initiate, plan, implement projects and reach milestones with tight deadlines

Master diploma must be accepted by the University of Basel.

The successful candidate holds a master in biology, biochemistry, medical biosciences or molecular biology, has a medical degree qualifying for an MD Ph.D. application or a master in a related discipline.

The position is funded for three years, and an initial one-year contract can be extended based on performance. The candidate is also encouraged to acquire personal grants.

Project examples in brief: i) role of PI3Kγ complexes in allergy, metabolic control, obesity, diabetes and cancer. ii) highly specific targeting of PI3Kα using novel chemical probes and degraders in cancer and metabolism, dissection of adverse effects.
