The research group of Prof. Müller is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong interest in material development and characterization, structure-property relationships to yield highly effective, low-temperature CO2 sorbents for direct air capture. This research will be performed in close collaboration with the Mezzenga group  at ETH Zürich.
The positions are available from February 2023 onwards.


Job description

You will work closely with other PhD students, postdocs and collaborators of the Laboratory of Energy Science and Engineering. The work will focus on the development of low-temperature CO2 sorbents for direct air capture.


Your profile
  • You are expected to have a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in the field of material synthesis (e.g. amine functionalization of solids, MOFs, etc.), material characterization and/or CO2 sorbents for direct air capture is a plus.
  • We are looking for motivated, committed, creative individuals able to work in a team and with excellent communication skills.
