The laboratory of Prof. Petr Cejka at the Institute of Research in Biomedicine (Bellinzona, in the southern region of Switzerland) is looking for candidates for PhD student positions or appointments at a postdoctoral level. Our laboratory investigates mechanisms of homologous recombination using primarily biochemical approaches. The laboratory is associated with the Università della Svizzera italiana and ETH Zurich, and was recently awarded the ERC Advanced Grant.

Requirements: Interest and enthusiasm to work on competitive projects in an international team. Applicants of all nationalities can apply, but good writing and communication skills in English are necessary.

For PhD student positions: Master's degree in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry or equivalent, with excellent grades demonstrating a strong track record.

For Postdoc positions: PhD degree in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry or equivalent. Excellent track record in terms of research accomplishments. At least one first author publication in a high-quality peer-reviewed journal is necessary. Preference will be given candidates competitive for international postdoctoral fellowships.
