About the department
At the Department of Applied Information Technology, critical and interdisciplinary research is conducted in an international environment of the highest quality with great relevance to the surrounding society. Our researchers are in the midst of the debate to help explain and problematize IT- and society-related challenges linked to the digitalization of society.

We develop the individual's knowledge and ability to analyze, understand and handle various aspects of IT as well as the interaction between human and technology in areas such as human-computer interaction, Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, digital innovation, e-Health, mobile communication, robots, social media and IT in schools and teaching.
We provide education at Bachelor's and Master's level anchored in research and the development of society.

The department is located at the knowledge-intensive Lindholmen, and has a well-developed collaboration with both business and public sector as well as the civil society.

About the division of informatics

The Division of Informatics consists of approximately thirty researchers who work specifically on issues related to digital innovation, open innovation, digital platforms and digitalization of the public sector. The researchers are regularly published in international top journals.

All teaching at the division's program, Master in Digital Leadership and the Bachelor's programme Information Systems reflect the strong research environment.

In both research and education, the division has a long tradition of working closely with industry and the public sector. The division hosts the Swedish Center for Digital Innovation, SCDI, and also offers contract teaching.

Blockchain lab is an initiative for creating a creative environment that allows researchers and students involved with SCDI to work with blockchain solutions in their studies and research at the Department of Applied Information technology located at Campus Lindholmen in Gothenburg.

We are looking for short-term student assistants in Blockchain Lab for spring 2022. This spring the lab work will consist of working with Interreg North Sea project partners and gathering data related to early blockchain solutions to benefit the European public sector.


Job assignments

Your tasks in Blockchain Lab consists of supporting researchers in research projects including data gathering and analyses. Tasks can be carried out virtually.


Qualifications

We are looking for admitted students with a background in IT or law and preferable at the very late stages of their studies (thesis-work stage), for example from our programs “Digital Leadership” or ”Information Systems: IT, Users and Organizations” or similar. Knowledge or experience of blockchain space is seen as a merit, but not as a requirement.

The university will through this recruitment make a holistic assessment of aptitude and skills and select the applicant which is deemed to have the best pre-requisites to conduct and develop current tasks of the position, interact and collaborate with other staff, as well as contributing to a positive development of the Division and Department.


Employment

This is an fixed-term employment (allmän visstidsanställning) at 25 % of full-time for 6 months at the Department of Applied Information Technology.
The employment will start according to agreement.
