Division

The position will be placed in the group of Prof. Arne Östman at the department of Oncology-Pathology (Arne Östmans group ). The Östman group has long focused on understanding and exploiting tumor microenvironment features with regard to tumor growth, metastasis and response to treatment.

Östman group is part of the Department of Oncology-Pathology , Karolinska Institutet. This department is the only department at Karolinska Institutet specifically dedicated to cancer research. Approximately 300 people from over 40 nations are currently working at the department, performing basic, translational and clinical cancer research. The department is composed of 37 research groups, and have around 110 PhD students.

Duties

The candidate will perform a broad spectrum of studies, including in vitro validation of hit compounds identified following previous drug screening activities, mechanistic studies aimed at target validation, and target identification studies using innovative methods. Selected compounds will be analyzed in orthotopic mouse GBM models and candidate targets will be evaluated through analyses of patient-derived tissue.

Entry requirements
