Postdoc position in optical quantum network

Updated: almost 2 years ago
Deadline: 30 Jun 2022

We offer a position at a leading technical university that generates knowledge and skills for a sustainable future. You will have engaged and ambitious colleagues from both industry and academia, along with a creative, international and dynamic working environment.

Project description
Quantum networks have incomparable advantages over classical networks in terms of communication security and computation power, where two representative techniques are quantum cryptography and quantum computing. Creating a scalable quantum network interconnecting users for secure communication and quantum processors to enable the quantum Internet is a major research focus in the project.

The project scope includes:
- Protocol design for interconnecting distributed quantum systems
- Optical quantum network planning and provisioning
- Resource allocation optimization for telecom and quantum co-existence network

The details of the departmental research activities may be found here .

Information about the division
The division of Communications, Antennas and Optical Networks conducts cutting edge research covering several aspect of communication infrastructures. The Optical Networks (ON) group performs research in network architecture design and optimization, control and management, datacenter networks, fiber access and mobile transport networks, network sustainability, reliability, security and survivability, and converged fiber-wireless networks.

Major responsibilities
As postdoctoral researcher, your main responsibilities are to lead and conduct research. You will be expected to help develop the team and contribute with your creative ideas. The position may also include teaching on undergraduate and master's levels as well as supervising master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.

Qualifications
