The division of Signal Processing and Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Electrical Engineering is recruiting a qualified candidate for a postdoc position funded by Chalmers Life Science Engineering Area of Advance, in support of the development of a new research track related to digital health. In this role, you will join a research group that provides a stimulating, pleasant and flexible work environment for developing research and teaching, and you will participate in supervising PhD students.
Project description
The project consists in investigating digital health, health care service delivery and their integation to the data and newest technologies e.g. including but not limited to the area of stroke diagnostics, prevention, rehabilitation and emergency care. The scientific research is expected to contribute to the research related to the data intensive digital health and preventive & personalized healthcare in interdiciplinary research environment as well as company and hospital ecosystems. You are therefore expected to communicate with companies, clinical experts and patients.
Furthermore, the position will be aligned with the recently launched Chalmers initiative "When care moves home" ("När vården flyttar hem"). Here three Chalmers departments with various expertise will cooperate with care stakeholders, industry, patient organizations and academic research from various diciplines to adress the big societal challenge now starting up where more care will provided at home and in primary care (www.chalmers.se/en/areas-of-advance/health/news/Pages/Moving-healthcare-home.aspx ).

The work of postdoc will contribute to the development and coordination of international projects of high quality, such as projects on the Horizon Europe, ITEA, and Swedish national projects. The research work is focused on the research of digital health (e.g. web/mobile based interventions/innovations and tele rehabilitation related but not limited to neurology and other lifestyle diseases and their prevention).
Major responsibilities
Your major responsibilities as postdoc is to pursue your own research in the area of digital health. You are expected to collaborate with ecosystems of interdiciplinary research networks, companies, clincial specialists and patients in order to develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally and in writing, both in English (and/or Swedish). You will contribute to applying for research funding and project coordination. The position also includes teaching on Chalmers' undergraduate level or performing other duties corresponding to 20 per cent of working hours.
Contract terms
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field; the degree should generally not be older than three years. You are expected to be somewhat accustomed to teaching, and to demonstrate good potential within research and education.
Meritorious qualifications are experiences in Digital Health and health technologies, in interdisciplinary collaboration, and preferably also in funding applications. You are interested in and motivated by working in a triple or quadruple helix environment.
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. If Swedish is not your native language, you are encouraged to learn it during your employment. Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
