We are looking for a PhD student in Systems Medicine.

Your work assignments

Metabolic disorders, such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases, are rising globally. Research has shown that both genetic predisposition and lifestyle factors, including diet, physical activity, and stress, contribute significantly to the risk of developing these conditions. However, the extent to which each factor influences metabolic health varies among individuals, and still requires deeper exploration. Proteins and metabolites are increasingly recognized as promising biomarkers for metabolic health, serving both to monitor physiological states and act as potential early indicators of diseases. Understanding the complex interplay of genetic and lifestyle factors with these biomolecules is crucial for developing risk stratification and therapeutic strategies for various diseases. In this project, we aim to investigate the intricate genetic and lifestyle that significantly influence the levels of circulating proteins and metabolites, which are critical in the development and progression of cardiometabolic disorders.
