We are looking for a PhD student in Medical Science.
Your work assignments
As a PhD student, you will participate in a project about neurodevelopmental individual differences, with special focus on social and sensory difficulties related to autism. Our research group works with advanced statistics, questionnaire methods, behavioral experiments at the computer and in virtual reality, as well as brain imaging. Your project will be supervised by Kajsa Igelström and India Morrison at the division of cell- and neurobiology.
As a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.
Your qualifications
You have graduated at Master’s level in cognitive science or similar, or completed courses with a minimum of 240 credits, at least 60 of which must be in advanced courses in neuroscience. Alternatively, you have gained essentially corresponding knowledge in another way.
You must have excellent skills in Swedish and English, and show documented experience of causal inference and Bayesian statistics. You should have experience with psychometric and psychophysical methods. It is an advantage if you can show previous research experience, advanced statistics coursework, and an interest in neurodevelopmental conditions and human experiments, documented through e.g., publications or courses.
Important personal characteristics for the position are independence, a focus on quality, and a collaborative attitude.

The employment

The employment has a duration of four years’ full-time equivalent. You will initially be employed for a period of one year. The employment will subsequently be renewed for periods of maximum duration two years, depending on your progress through the study plan. The employment may be extended up to a maximum of five years, based on the amount of teaching and departmental duties you have carried out. Further extensions can be granted in special circumstances.
Starting date by agreement.
