Hereby advertises a position as 

PhD student in Infrainformatics with concentration in Quantitative Logistics
formally based at the Department of Science and Technology, Campus Norrköping.  

Duties
As a PhD student you will primarily devote yourself to your research. As a PhD student you are limited to work with education and administration up to 20 percent of full time. 

You will be working on design and analysis of algorithms for geometric optimization problems. The topics include but are not limited to motion planning, coverage and packing, network connectivity and other areas. Depending on the student's skills, the designed algorithms will be either analyzed from the theoretical perspective or implemented in practice and tested on real-world data. 

Qualifications
Qualified to PhD studentships are only those who are or have been admitted to graduate studies. 

We seek candidates with strong background in one of the following: math (especially discrete math), optimization (especially IP), algorithms (in particular, asymptotic worst-case analysis), programming, software development (especially architecture and customized solutions), probability and statistics. In your application, please specify your experience in the areas. 

Appointment time
The appointment will be until further notice for a maximum of one year at a time. A doctoral student may not be employed during a period exceeding eight years. The total time of appointment must not exceed the equivalent of four years´ full time research training.

The salary for PhD students is based on the department’s salary scale.
