We are looking for a PhD student (licentiate) in Fluid and Mechatronic Systems
Your work assignments
You will work in the national aeronautical research project "Flight test of control systems in a radio-controlled demonstrator" (FCoSUFT), the purpose of which is to test different types of control systems in subscale aircraft demonstrators. Partly traditional control systems, but also technologies at the forefront of research. The work includes flight mechanical simulations, programming of hardware, as well as reduction of flight test data.
As a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.
Your qualifications
You have completed a master’s degree, or equivalent, in aeronautical engineering and have an interest in control systems and aircraft flight mechanics. You also have good knowledge in programming and have experience in simulation. Furthermore, practical experience from operating and building drones, RC models etc, are higly valued.
As a person, you are self-motivated, well-structured and a good team player.
Candidates should have high proficiency in oral and written communication in English.

The Division of Fluid and Mechatronic Systems at Linköping University is a research and education unit that conducts work in two main areas: hydraulics for construction equipment and aircraft systems.

The employment
When taking up the post, you will be admitted to the program for doctoral studies. More information about the doctoral studies at each faculty is available at Doctoral studies at Linköping University
The employment has a duration of two years’ full-time equivalent. You will initially be employed for a period of one year. The employment will subsequently be renewed depending on your progress through the study plan. The employment may be extended up to a maximum of 2,5 years, based on the amount of teaching and departmental duties you have carried out. Further extensions can be granted in special circumstances.
Starting date by agreement.
