We are looking for a PhD student in Computer Vision.

Your work assignments
The research will be focused on robot vision for action perception. Specifically we will look at using action and motion parameters as guiding signals for learning, to allow learning to take place on the robot platform, using direct recordings of images and sensory data when these are distorted by the task at hand. The project will make use of current understanding of the dorsal stream function in human vision. The research is funded by the Swedish research council (VR), and the results will be presented in scientific articles and at conferences such as IJRR, TPAMI, ICRA and CVPR.

As a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.

CVL conducts research and education in machine learning for computer vision at the undergraduate, advanced, and PhD levels. The division has been identified as outstanding Swedish research environment within AI in Vinnova’s latest report. For further details, see https://liu.se/organisation/liu/isy/cvl .

Your qualifications
You have a degree at advanced level in computer science and engineering, or applied physics and electrical engineering, with at least 240 ECTS credits, of which at least 60 are cycle 2, with specialisation in computer vision or equivalent.
