Ref. No. SU FV-1051-23
at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences . Closing date: 15 April 2023.
The Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) is one of the oldest IT departments in Sweden and one of the largest departments at Stockholm University with around 5,000 students and around 190 employees. The discipline of computer and systems sciences bridges the gap between technology and the humanities, social sciences, and behavioral sciences. The use and design of IT is put in context in relation to people, organizations, and society. DSV offers a stimulating research environment in an international setting.
Artificial Intelligence is a rapidly growing research area that leverages technologies such as machine learning, statistics, and business processes. More specifically, machine learning methods have been recently evolving towards deep learning and reinforcement learning, resulting in high-performant models and tools. At the same time, the notion of digital twin has been extensively used across the whole system development lifecycle from designing and planning to maintaining products and services. A data-driven digital twin is a digital representation of a physical object or set of services functioning on the basis of live data streams for the purpose of monitoring them for prediction and decision making.
The main goal of this PhD project is to employ Artificial Intelligence and machine learning methods alongside a digital twin conceptual architecture and prototype for monitoring and optimization of energy. Real, streaming data from the real-estate domain will be used in the project.
