We develop theoretical and computationally-based models with a focus on modeling of ultrafast magnetic processes, theory for laser- and current-induced magnetism, theory of driven superconductivity as well as theory for novel spintronics.

The PhD student will perform theoretical investigations and computational modeling of unusual current or laser-induced non-equilibrium magnetization processes and transport in magnetic materials on ultrashort time scales (femtoseconds).

The research work includes development of theoretical models and computer programs for ultrafast optical control of magnetization in strong laser fields and theory for ultrafast spin switching. Density-functional theory (DFT) programs will be used for accurate description of the magnetic materials.
