Project description
Third-cycle subject: Electrical engineering
The Micro and Nanosystems Lab invites applications for Ph.D. student positions. We are seeking applicants who have a desire to conduct cutting-edge research within the area of biomedical MEMS.
As a Ph.D. student in MEMS you will be part of an interdisciplinary research team that consists of members with different professional and cultural backgrounds.
One doctoral project aims to develop a minimally invasive probe to extract sap from plants over an extended period of time. The work includes developing the technical platform and evaluating it in relevant models and in plants. Another project aims at developing a point-of-care rapid test for monitoring lithium in patients with bipolar disorder. Both projects address several research challenges in miniaturization, microfluidics, and sensor technology. Your research will be application focused and address real issues. You will work in a very innovative environment in close collaboration with experts, in plant physiology and fuel cell technology, and chemical analysis and clinicians, respectively.
Supervision: The doctoral student will be supervised by: Asc. Prof. Niclas Roxhed
