The PhD position focus on a case of reconfigurable battery system development for improved energy efficiency, flexibility and redundancy. For high reliability, battery pack and individual cells need extensive monitoring and modelling for state of charge and state of health estimations. In the project, reconfigurable battery management systems will be developed based on embedded systems utilizing models and/or machine learning approaches; different energy storage applications both in automotive and power grid will also be investigated and developed for improved performance and flexibility.
As a PhD student in the Power electronics group, you will be a vital part of the research group, collaborating with other PhD students, post-docs and senior researchers. Your studies will consist of courses and own research work, developing your competences through both theoretical studies and experimental investigations.
