I-2221- PHD STUDENT : METAVERSE SECURITY MANAGEMENT

LIST is looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate with proven skills in computer science, cybersecurity, privacy, and modelling. METAVERSE is an emerging and trendy technology tending to be massively adopted by organisations. Current use cases in development are, e.g., Digital Twin of an enterprise in the METAVERSE, services digitalized in the metaverse or employees working in the Metaverse. However, the digitalization of some services in the Metaverse comes with specific risks to be addressed, particularly in terms of cybersecurity, privacy and ethics. The main objective of the PhD project is to develop an integrated and metaverse-specific risk management framework to deal with cybersecurity, privacy and ethics risks.

The specific missions of the candidate will include, but are not limited to, leading the following activities:

  • Literature review regarding the following:
    • Security f METAVERSE.
    • Regulatins related to METAVERSE.
  • Risk management in the domains of security, privacy and ethics.
  • Establishment of a risk management models and methods integrating three domains in the specific context of risk.
  • Establishment of risk scenario/knowledge bases and of a set of controls to address them.
  • Implementation of the risk management model and associated risk/control libraries in the GRCC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) tool.
  • Experimentation on some use cases.

You will also be in charge of disseminating and promoting the research activities that will be carried out, whether through publications or technical reports.

The candidate should accept to submit a proposal for funding under the framework of Industrial Fellowship from FNR (www.fnr.lu ) under the collaboration between LIST/ITIS and a business company based in Luxembourg.
