We are seeking a talented young PhD student in computational chemistry for materials science and catalysis.

Research topic: computational simulation of porous materials for catalytic applications.
Research Center: Centre for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CIQUS, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain), addresses challenges in Biological and Medicinal Chemistry, New functional Materials and Synthetic Technologies. We host 19 research groups, 11 ERC projects (4 ERC-PoC), which obtain 7 MEUR/year in competitive funds (2017-2020) and an average Impact Factor of 7,4 (JCR) during the same period. Other outputs: 21 patents granted, 2 licences and 4 spin-offs promoted.
Research Supervisor: Dr. Manuel A. Ortuño.
Starting Date and term : Between October and November 2021. 3 year duration.
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Materials Science, academic rank higher than 7.5 (over 10).
Master degree in Chemistry or Materials Science.
We seek candidates with initiative, creativity, and motivation to collaborate with other research groups.
Previous experience in computational chemistry (density functional theory) would be highly considered.
