About us

The Genètica i Ambient en Psiquiatria (GAP) investigates genetic and environmental factors involved in the development of psychiatric disorders. This research group is part of the Centro Nacional de Investigación Biomédica en Red en Salud Mental, CIBERSAM and also of the Catalan Network of Technological Innovation in Mental Health (TECSAM). Researchers conduct basic research by analyzing genetic data both from participants of the projects we develop and from research data repositories. Clinical research is also carried out through psychopathological, psychological and neurocognitive evaluation of patients with psychiatric disorders. Our final objective is to contribute to improve the diagnosis, treatment and evolution of psychiatric disorders and, thus, the quality of life of the people who suffer from them.
