Postdoctoral position

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a PhD in Neuroscience or related subjects and with high interest and experience in mouse models of disease, brain circuits functions and mice behavior.

1. The candidate should have: (i) the certificate to work with Laboratory Animals; (ii) be eager to design and conduct independent experimental research in rodents, involving drugs and AAV administration, brain stereotaxic surgeries, optogenetics, calcium recordings with fiber photometry, 2-photon stimulation and behavior, and to collaborate with photonics and bioengineering international researchers. (iii) Computer skills and knowledge of statistic analysis. Importantly, communication skills, ability to work in a team and good level of English is also required. Part of the work will involve support in administrative tasks related to the project, including reports.

2. Knowledge and skills also desired include: (i) in vitro tools: generation of primary neuronal cultures, AAV transfection of neurons, and in vitro functional studies, such as calcium imaging. (ii) Multi-electrode arrays + optogenetics. (iii) Molecular biology and histology knowledge will be positively evaluated (Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, qPCR, etc). (iv) Brain circuit modulating techniques: DREADDS, optogenetics, pharmacology. (v) MATLAB programming.
